I have seen first-hand how HOPEmalawiUK has changed lives. I will never forget the excitement in the eyes of children who were no longer going to have to walk miles to learn in a nursery, or how they couldn't wait to play on a playground for the first time. This program has not only provided HOPE for people who desperately need it, but has also strengthened community infrastructure. It's empowering young minds so they might have a brighter future. So, if someone were to ask me if I support HOPEmalawiUK, it's not even a question in my mind. Rather, it's a statement of fact: I support HOPEmalawiUK.

CHIHAME KAMOZA NURSERY SCHOOL
Chihame Nursery is a community nursery set up by HOPEmalawi in Chihame, a few km's from Nkhata Bay. HOPEmalawiUK raised funds to help refurbish and decorate an unused building in the village and 3 of our members helped with the work. Outside in the school grounds there is now a playground and a garden. The garden produce will be sold to provide an income for school supplies making it sustainable.
It's proven that stimulus in early childhood improves a child's chances in succeeding once they attend school. However another important benefit is that if a child is safe in nursery, mum or elder daughter is free to work or go to school.
nursery school opening
On 30th October 2012 HOPEmalawi held the official opening of Chihame Nursery School. Over 200 adults and children crowded into the newly decorated classroom to celebrate the efforts of local and international volunteers.
How you can help
The school could always benefit from extra support including educational toys and supplies, some finance for teacher salaries and a tap water connection.
